Dr. Medappa Chottepandad
Medappa Chottepanda, affectionately known as "Medu" in India and "Med" in the US and other places, grew up on a farm in Kodagu, India. Despite coming from one of the poorest families in the region, he pursued education and earned a B.A. and M.A. degree in Rural Economics and Cooperatives in India, followed by an M.S. and Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics in the United States. Rising from working as a Gram Sevak in India to becoming the Director of the Minnesota State Government, Medappa continued to serve as a Senior Advisor/Consultant in over 15 developing countries. His dedication and success have been an inspiration to many.
His memoir 'Triumph Over Adversity' narrates his life journey, which is filled with resilience, cultural heritage, and a passion for teaching and volunteering. His other book, 'The World is Your Campus,' provides invaluable guidance for international students navigating education and opportunities abroad. It explores options such as pursuing further education, seeking employment in the host country or other countries, or returning home to contribute to their communities.
